Because childbirth carries with it a host of worries, brushing your chompers while pregnant is perhaps one of the last things you worry about. But since your dental health can affect your health and the baby’s health, it’s imperative that you do everything in your power to maintain your oral cavity health while you’re expecting a child. We’ve assembled the following tips to aid you in doing just that.
How to maintain your oral cavity health during pregnancy:
-Always brush at least two times a day using ADA-approved toothpaste.
-Floss your chompers at least once a day.
-If you use oral products besides toothpaste, ensure that they also display the ADA seal of approval.
-Look out for foods high in sugar, which could form plaque, tartar and eventually periodontal disease in your oral cavity.
-Visit our office regularly so that we can pay attention to your oral health and adjust your service plan accordingly.
-Monitor your plaque; if you have strangely high amounts, we might be able to recommend a high-power mouthwash to assist you in keeping it under control.
